'The Environmental Appeals Act in the Area of Conflict between Species Protection and Climate Protection': Using wind turbines as an example, this thesis shows how the Environmental Appeals Act (Umwelt-Rechtsbehelfsgesetz - UmwRG) reveals a tension between protection of species and protection of climate. This result is particularly relevant in the light of obligations under climate protection law to increase the proportion of electricity generated from wind energy. The study therefore examines several approaches that exist for resolving this tension.
