Dr. A. Mehmet Demirtas was born on September 15, 1959, in Bolu, Turkey. He completed his early education at Yücetepe Elementary School and later attended TED Ankara College and Ankara Science High School. He pursued his medical degree at Hacettepe University, graduating in 1983. Following his compulsory service in Ordu, Turkey, Dr. Demirtas specialized in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, where he later became a Professor, focusing on hand and upper extremity surgery. He served as the Clinical Director at Memorial Ankara Hospital and has been involved in academic roles at Ufuk University. Dr. Demirtas furthered his expertise through fellowships in Japan, the U.S., and at various universities, including Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. He has held multiple leadership roles in national and international medical societies, including the Turkish Society of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has also contributed to sports medicine through his involvement with several Turkish sports federations. Dr. Demirtas is married and has two sons. Dr. Mehmet Armangil, born on February 22, 1976, in Ankara, Turkey, is currently a Professor at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, specializing in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. He completed his medical education at Ankara University, followed by a residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology. After his civil service and military service, he became a specialist in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. Dr. Armangil has held various academic positions, starting as an Assistant Professor and eventually becoming a full Professor in 2022. He is an active member of several professional societies, including the Turkish Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery and the Turkish Society for Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, where he has served in executive roles. Throughout his career, Dr. Armangil has contributed significantly to the field with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests focus on hand surgery, tendon repair, and microsurgery. Dr. Armangil is married with two children. Dr. Gökçe Yildiran was born on October 26, 1986, in Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Yildiran earned her medical degree from Ankara University in 2011. Dr. Yildiran was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in 2022, and promoted to Associate Professor in 2023, where she continues her academic career. She has authored numerous scientific articles and presentations. She pursued a residency in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine. In 2015, she gained further experience as an observer at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, focusing on hand surgery. She completed a hand surgery fellowship at Selçuk University. She has served as an executive board member of the Turkish Society of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. Dr. Yildiran is an active member of the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, the Turkish Society of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, the Turkish Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery. Her main interests in hand surgery are microsurgical reconstruction and tendon repair. She is married and has twin boys. |
