"Celebrating special days helps children and all of us have hope in God, hope in one another, and hope in the future." With this mission as her guide, experienced catechist Patricia Mathson offers practical ways for catechists to help children ages 5 to 11 experience God's love throughout the liturgical year. Celebrating special days--including new ones such as World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, Sunday of the Word of God, and Mary, Mother of the Church-- help children make the connection between their lives, their church, and their world. With more than 150 activities, catechists can choose those that work best with their group of children to guide them toward ways to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
