Mary Packard has written over 250 books for both children and adults. She began her love affair with books at a young age, and today she writes books that she herself would enjoy reading. For her, writing is a fun way to explore new subjects and to try out things she might not have done in real life —such as climbing mountains or swimming with sharks. In delving into the Tarot, she discovered a richly layered tradition suffused with universal symbolism. She found as well that the Tarot can be appreciated on a variety of levels—from a purely historical and artistic perspective to one where the cards have many stories of their own to tell.
Fay Martin discovered her love of illustration as a teenager, when black fine-liner pens became her favorite medium. She graduated from the Falmouth School of Art with a specialization in Illustration, and then graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth, with a concentration in the Pre-Raphaelites and Art Nouveau. Gustav Klimt has served as a major inspiration to her, along with Japanese block prints and pointillist art. Fay lives in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England, totally immersed in developing new styles and techniques with her beloved fine-liner pens. |
